More than 120 leaders from around Australia, New Zealand, West Papua, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region gathered in Perth at the end of June for the 2007 National Assembly on being neighbours in the Pacific.

The focus on the assembly was on Religious in Australia exploring ways in which they could be better neighbours to their brothers and sisters in East Timor and the Pacific nations.  Helping them to do this were a number of religious leaders from neighbouring countries such as Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and West Papua who spoke at the assembly.
