Creation: The constant outpouring of God's love and mercy (2016)

2016 National Assembly, Leura, 21 June (Tuesday) - 23 June (Thursday) 2016

The 2016 National Assembly was held in Leura NSW to reflect on the message of Laudato Si’ and the Jubilee Year of Mercy in the light of the Gospel.

The event featured Sister Elaine Wainwright rsm and Sister Anne Boyd csb as key speakers throughout the three days. Mercy Sister Elaine Wainwright is a biblical scholar committed to contextual interpretation. Brigidine Sister Anne Boyd is the editor of EarthSong Journal and a member of the coordinating team of EarthSong, a Melbourne-based educational project which offers programs in ecology and spirituality. Invitations to the Assembly were also extended to the representatives of Public Juridic Persons (PJPs) who have canonical and governance responsibility for many Education, Health, Aged Care and Community services formerly conducted by Religious Institutes. They were joined by the Apostolic Nuncio of Australia, Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, lay partners and delegates of religious conferences of New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.
