Beloved 150Sisters Anne Marie Joyce osc and Hilda Scott osb have contributed to a reflection book and CD resources from the Diocese of Wollongong. These reflections are contained in Beloved-Daily Advent and Christmas Reflections 2015 and Cry Out - a CD of Psalms for Advent and Lent.

Continuing the tradition from past years and tying in with the beginning of Pope Francis’ Jubilee Year of Mercy, Beloved is a beautifully presented full-colour 72-page pocket size resource containing short daily reflections from the First Sunday of Advent (Sunday 29 November 2015) through to The Baptism of the Lord (Sunday 10 January 2016).

Beloved is primarily for personal use, but it is also appropriate for group use such as parish, Church agency, religious community and school staff/class prayer. Many people buy bulk copies of the book for family and friends as an alternative to Christmas cards (this year we have provided a page for you to write a “gift note” in the book).

Beloved also features beautiful religious artworks from our rich Catholic history with enlightening “artwork spotlight” descriptions written by Fr Graham Schmitzer pp (Immaculate Conception Parish, Unanderra).

Also included in Beloved this year is the text for the four Sunday Psalms for Advent. The psalms (as well as the six psalms for Lent 2016) have been beautifully put to music by Tracey Coombes with the help of some of Australia’s leading musicians and produced by the Diocese of Wollongong. The psalms are available on the new album, Cry Out, which can be purchased separately as a physical CD or digital download, or purchased as a box set with the Beloved book at a discounted price.

In November, Beloved will also be released as an interactive App for iOS and Android devices that will include all the text and images from the book as well as audio narrations of the reflections by the contributors and the four advent psalm tracks from Cry Out.

Other contributors to the reflections include: Trish McCarthy (Faith Education Officer of CCD Wollongong), Deacon Michael Dyer (Lumen Christi Catholic Parishes, Wollongong), Fr Patrick Faherty pp vg (St Michael’s Parish, Nowra) and Fr Stephen Varney (Lumen Christi Catholic Parishes, Wollongong).

Delivery of the books and CD's are expected from the first week of November onwards.

Please note, if you live in the Diocese of Wollongong, please check with your parish, school, agency or religious order before ordering as they may be ordering copies on your behalf.
