planting hands 150The Columban Mission Institute has created a Catholic Season of Creation Resource to help Catholic believers better celebrate Spring and God as Creator. Based on the liturgical Scripture and Prayers of the 4 Sundays in September, the Resource offers stories, quotations and explanations about God’s love active in all of creation.

Using the Resource, Catholic communities can systematically answer the Pope’s call to respect what scientists tell us about billions of year of cosmic evolution and contemplate God’s presence there. We can recognise that the earth is being abused; that poor people are the first to suffer; and pray to be responsible carers for the multiple gifts of earth as our decisions impact on earth’s future.

Called a Catholic Season of Creation this Resource has four leaflets for the Sundays of September. It explores the Sunday Scripture Readings to help us find the voice of the earth as the voice of the Holy Spirit. Our common Sunday worship is an easy place to start seeing the natural world in God’s plan of Salvation in Jesus Christ linking the insights of ecology with Scripture.

The Resource is being sent electronically to Catholic Parishes so that all of it or parts can be used in bulletins, homilies or form the basis for discussion groups.

This online Catholic resource is free. However, a donation to the work of Columban PEJ Office is appreciated and welcome.
