Stories of refugee support at Centacare Community Connections

Sr Suzanne Gentle pbvm150Presentation Sister Suzanne Gentle, Co-ordinator of Centacare Community Connections Cannon Hill in Brisbane was recently interviewed with Nirosha Ponnuthurai, an asylum seeker from Sri Lanki on 96.5 FM radio station in Queensland.

Sr Suzanne tells of Centacare's support for refugees. “One of our programmes, ‘Welcome Circles’ offers support, education, practical assistance and advocacy to refugees and asylum seekers. By offering a safe and peaceful environment men and women can meet other people, learn new skills, speak to their family members in their home country via Skype, be involved in activities and share their gifts and talents with each other.

She invited everyone to listen to the her interview with Nirosha Ponnuthurai on 96.5FM radio station, Queensland. "I invite you to listen to the story of this courageous woman Nirosha, who escaped her home country of Sri Lanka by boat with her two children (10 and 12 years old).”
