Year of Mercy 150On Sunday 6th November 2016, the Australian Catholic Prisoners Pastoral Care Council (ACPPCC) will celebrate a ‘Jubilee for Prisoners’ as designated by Pope Francis in this Year of Mercy. Prison Chaplains across Australia will deliver a special ‘Message for Prisoners’ from Bishop Terry Brady, Delegate for Prison Chaplains.

The ACPPCC have created a simple DL leaflet for prison chaplains to deliver the message to prisoners on their human value and self worth. The ACPPCC are calling on parishes and the Catholic community across Australia to mark this Jubilee on 6th November with a Mass or prayer service for prisoners. The ACPPCC have also created a series of parish resources and a prayer for prisoners that can be circulated across your diocese.

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) has developed resources to promote this jubilee in dioceses, schools, and community groups. This pack includes the ACPPCC ‘Message for Prisoners’ and various images for websites and social media.

Download the 'Message for Prisoners' leaflet, prayer card, posters and other materials from the ACBC page.
