Fr Sean McDonagh sscThe schedule for ecotheologian and Columban Father Sean McDonagh's Australian speaking tour is now finalised. The tour focuses on Bringing Laudato Si’ To Life: From Vision to Action and is coordinated by the Columban Centre for Peace, Ecology & Justice (PEJ) in partnership with the Australian Catholic University, Catholic Earthcare Australia, Archdiocese of Sydney Justice and Peace Office and Earthkin Sisters of Mercy, Parramatta on the Sydney events.

“This is potentially an extraordinary moment for the church," Columban Fr McDonagh said of Laudato Si’ during a previous speaking tour of the United States. The purpose of this tour is to contribute to bringing the vision of Laudato Si’ to life and action in the churches and the wider community, in dialogue with other faiths and with environmentalists.

This Australian tour commences in Brisbane, then Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and is shaping up to be a busy and interesting schedule. Fr Sean McDonagh will also tour to Perth.

Sydney will host three talks on Thursday 10th, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November.

The first event in Sydney will be a public forum at Australian Catholic University, Gleeson Auditorium in Strathfield from 6pm. The second is a reception and conversation for Parish Priests and Parish workers at Level 16, Tenison Woods House, ACU North Sydney from 1pm. The third is looking at what one parish is doing to implement Laudato Si’ at St Anthony in the Fields Church, Frenchs Forest Parish.
