Religious recognised in Queen's Birthday 2016 Honours

Sr Cecilia Wiltshire pbvmReligious were among those in the list of recipients in The Queen’s Birthday 2016 Honours List.

All were made a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia in recognition of their service to education, winemaking, tourism, community life and social welfare programs.

Presentation Sister Cecilia Mary Wiltshire (pictured) of Homebush West, New South Wales was honoured for significant service to the community through social welfare programs, to education, and to the Catholic Church in Australia.

She has worked tirelessly at the Nagle Centre, a Family Care and Support Centre for people and families experiencing crisis and disadvantage in the Macarthur Region of NSW.

Marist Brother Daniel Edwin Hollamby of Alice Springs, Northern Territory was recognised for significant service to primary education, particularly in Indigenous communities, through senior teaching and leadership positions.

Jesuit Brother John Lawrence May of Sevenhill, South Australia was recognised for significant service to winemaking, through contributions to professional associations, to regional tourism, and to the Catholic Church in Australia.
