CRA Yr of Mercy logo 150Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) proudly unveils a logo to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy which began on the 8th of December 2015 and will conclude on the 20th of November 2016.

CRA yr of mercy portrait smallThe logo reflects the call of Pope Francis to contemplate the mystery of mercy throughout the year to become more effective witnesses of God in our lives. We are all called, said Pope Francis, “to look beyond, to focus on the heart to see how much generosity everyone is capable.”

The logo is for the use of CRA members and the ministries and partners of its member congregations and institutes. Church groups, parishes and the broader Australian Catholic community are welcome to use the logo for the promotion of the Year of Mercy.

“The logo depicts the CRA cross and shows the region of Australia, Oceania and Asia where many religious women and men associated with CRA serve the marginalised,” said CRA President Sister Berneice Loch. “Showing these regions on the globe demonstrates our interconnectedness and unity in mission with others striving for merciful love in the world.”

“The image of the heart focuses on mercy as God’s loving concern and the green hands convey hope for the world, as well as the call to compassion and healing for our distressed Earth.”

Sr Berneice also draws attention to Pope Francis’ words when he opened the Holy Door of the Basilica of St. John the Lateran on Gaudete Sunday: “The joy of crossing the Gate of Mercy is accompanied by a commitment to welcome and give witness to a love that goes beyond justice, a love that knows no boundaries.”

“May we enter into the heart of the Gospel where the marginalised, especially those seeking asylum, have a special experience of God's mercy."

The logo comes in a variety of forms and in reverse colour to suit any design requirement: avatar form, landscape and portrait layouts. It also comes in the following digital formats: transparent PNG files, Illustrator (AI) files for media outlets or in PDF.

The logo, whether in avatar, landscape or portrait form, may be resized but must be used in its entirety. The logo must not be used for any other commercial purpose without permission from CRA.
