All flowing together

Sr Berneice Loch rsm150 2015At the recent National Assembly, similar messages from many sources were flowing together in which we were impelled to respond. May we do so with glad hearts, writes CRA President Berneice Loch rsm.

This will a very brief piece from me since I am anticipating that the July issue of Pathways will provide a great deal of interesting reading and comment following on from the Catholic Religious Assembly held in Brisbane at the end of June.

It was a wonderful Assembly and included leaders from within and beyond our immediate Religious Congregation members. They came at the invitation of CRA members and were very welcome. The relevance of all that Sister Carol Zinn had to say was apparent to all and I know that we all derived great benefit from the diversity of leadership situations present among us.

The release of ‘Laudato Si’ just as the Assembly started added a special dimension to all that was being said and discussed, and I think it also elicited a conscious response among the leaders to ensure that the Pope’s pleas to the human race will not go unheeded. It was as if similar messages from many sources were flowing together and creating a situation in which we were and are impelled to respond. May we do so with glad hearts as we move into the second half of the Year of Consecrated Life.

I want to record here my thanks, and the thanks of all who attended, to the members of the Planning Committee and the CRA Executive Director and staff. I don’t doubt that the obvious appreciation of the participants was all the reward they were hoping for, but we need them to know that their efforts were noted and that we are grateful.
