The feast of the Immaculate Conception is a special feast for the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception throughout the world. Founded about twenty years after the promulgation of the dogma, and at the request of the Holy See, the MFIC Sisters were the first congregation to include the title in their name. It serves as the date for the transition of leadership for the Sisters of the Australian Circle.

At a celebration of the eucharist, the outgoing Leadership Team was thanked and farewelled and the incoming Leadership Team of Sisters Catherine White (Leader), Patricia Treacy (Assistant Leader), and Elaine Morzone (Councillor) were welcomed.

The outgoing Leadership Team of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters was thanked and farewelled: Srs Pauline Robinson (Leader), Catherine White (Assistant Leader), Cecilia Prestashewsky (Councillor) and Karen Bourke (Retired Councillor). The Sisters who served in other areas of responsibility in the Australian Circle were also thanked.
