free west papuaThere have been uprisings in Papua in recent weeks which demonstrate the serious social disruption and oppression which Papuan people see as coming from fundamental injustice in the governance of their country.

In February 2016, Peter Arndt of the Brisbane Peace and Justice Office, and Josephite Sister Susan Connelly spent two weeks in Papua. Their report aimed to briefly sketch the historical context of the present situation in West Papua, document some of the stories and information collected about the present human rights situation, and to make an assessment of the way forward.

Download their report here entitled "We Will Lose Everything".
