The key messages for National Child Protection Week 2014 continue to be “Protecting Children is Everyone’s Business” and “Play Your Part”. The campaign invites you, your family, your workplace and your community to get involved in promoting the wellbeing and safety of children and young people in your local area. Please help spread the word about National Child Protection Week to your family, friends and community.

For over 20 years, NAPCAN (National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) has been running an annual National Child Protection Week campaign developing multimedia, visual and text resources to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of primary prevention to reduce child abuse and neglect in Australia.

NAPCAN’s campaign aims to provide communities and individuals with practical information on how to ‘Play Your Part’ and to embed primary prevention messages into social discourse. It also provides a platform for communities to be empowered, resourced and mobilised to take action at a local level.

Our 2014 posters have now been released, and downloadable versions are now on this website. In the coming weeks, new material including links to educational resources, communication and media kits will be available. The registry for community events organised in support of National Child Protection Week is now active, and your registered events will be promoted on the NAPCAN website closer to the launch of the campaign.
